Welcome to Community Release Ver 3.00

It is our goal to make the Android Community Release System the bible of Android releases for ROM updates on any Android device.  We have a lot of plans for the future and intend to add more themes, application, modifications and anything else that will enhance the functionality of your device.

If you haven't already signed up for a Community Release account, go to the registration page and reserve your username now.  Developers who already have an established name within the community will take priority over regular user accounts, so please take this into consideration when you apply for your account.

[ROM][AOSP][17-Mar] Slim ICS [2.9] - 70 MB- Clean, Simple & Fast - The Google Way


I am the owner of the Slim ICS for Nexus S. I have compiled a light ROM for SGS.

Checkout this benchmark done for Nexus S using my Slim ICS and others here

Thanks a ton to Candanga, who was willing and patient in testing my multiple builds. Thanks to DT3CH my other tester. Lastly to team hacksung for their excellent work on the device files and kernel.It looks like all features are working in this build, hence time to update the thread and release v1.0 for SGS.

NOTE: No Bug Reporting if what you are using is not 100% stock SLIM please.

IMPORTANT:: If you are going to report issues, Read the first 3 posts first and put a note in your post saying you did, then produce a logcat ( adb logcat > filename.txt). Failing to do so, your post will be ignored.

Built from AOSP 4.0.3 sources, with device folder and kernel from Team Hacksung

Highlights:

  • Basic Google Stuff Included ( 4.0.4 Gmail,Talk, Calendar and Contacts sync)

Slim ICS v2.7 - Stable?
IMPORTANT NOTE: : 
Starting with 2.7 I am forming a common base for galaxy variants, so every user needs to flash the Slim_ICS_Base_2.7 and their device essentials, so a I9000 user has to flash the Slim_ICS_2.7_I9000_Essentials as well, if you don`t your system won`t boot. I am doing this so i can make it easier on my side and allow users of vibrant and captivate to become Slim.

  • Smaller but common base for galaxy S variant phones
  • Modded Market where paid apps work ( if it doesn`t, try this, manually push it in system/app, set permissions, reboot)
  • Modem provided in Essentials - it will leave your modem alone if there is one already.
  • Introducing ASS ( Advanced Slim Settings) - thanks to Roman and AOKP team
    • Modify Notification Widgets
    • Adjust CPU frequency
    • Change battery style
    • Add/Remove Toggles
    • Adjust the toggle style ( Text, icon or alternate toggles)
    • Change LCD density
    • Allow 180 degree rotation
